The need to have data for informed wildlife policy and interventions has long been recognized in Uganda. The Uganda research and Training Institute Act 2015 provides evidence to this need and serves as the legal instrument enabling the pursuit of wildlife research. Consequently, the Uganda National Wildlife research agenda 2020/2025 was developed through a multi stakeholder approach. The national wildlife research agenda is important in guiding research on wildlife resources and how best to conserve and utilize wildlife for the national economy through research based activities.
