Certain medications can cause nephrotoxicity, either by direct tubular damage, interstitial inflammation, or obstruction of urine flow. Some examples of nephrotoxic medications are aminoglycosides, vancomycin, amphotericin B, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs), and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs).
